Seven years of building Australia's most trusted financial education platform, one milestone at a time
What started as a conversation between three financial analysts in a Perth café has grown into something we never quite expected. Back then, we noticed how many bright graduates were struggling with practical valuation techniques that universities barely touched on. The textbooks covered theory beautifully, but when it came to actually building DCF models or understanding market multiples in real Australian contexts, there was this gap.
Our first workshop had twelve people crammed into a borrowed meeting room. We spent six hours going through actual ASX-listed company valuations, using real data and walking through every assumption. The feedback was immediate – people wanted more of this hands-on approach.
The pandemic forced everyone online, but for us it opened doors we hadn't considered. Suddenly we could reach analysts in Darwin, Hobart, even remote mining towns where financial expertise was desperately needed. Our online platform launched with interactive case studies featuring companies like Fortescue, Woolworths, and CSL.
We developed what became our signature approach – taking complex valuation scenarios and breaking them into digestible modules. Instead of overwhelming students with theory, we'd start with a simple question: "If you had to value this mining company tomorrow, where would you begin?" The response was incredible. Enrollment jumped from 200 to over 1,500 students in eighteen months.
Last year brought validation we hadn't expected. The Australian Financial Review featured our methodology in their education supplement, and we started getting calls from major investment banks wanting to understand our approach. What struck us most was hearing from former students who'd moved into senior analyst roles and were implementing techniques they'd learned with us.
We also partnered with three major Australian universities to supplement their finance programs. It's rewarding to see academic institutions recognizing the value of practical, market-focused education alongside traditional theory.
We're developing advanced modules focusing on ESG integration in valuation models and cryptocurrency analysis – areas that weren't even on our radar when we started. The goal remains the same: practical skills that actually matter in today's financial markets.
Our next cohort begins in October 2025, with early registration opening this September. We're limiting enrollment to maintain the quality of individual feedback that's become our hallmark.
